Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Kidderminster | Salary: £52,149 per annum + overtime (earnings up to £60,000+) | Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off – Days & Nights (6am–6pm / 6pm–6am)

The ideal candidate will come from a heavy‑industry manufacturing background and will have experience working as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Technician or Shift Engineer, maintaining large industrial plant in a safety‑critical environment.

The Role

  • Carry out mechanical maintenance on plant and production equipment
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
  • Fault find and diagnose issues on hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
  • Bearing fitting and alignment
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality and reliability
  • Support continuous improvement and reduction of downtime
  • Work effectively as part of a shift-based maintenance team

This is a varied and practical role that will allow you to use and develop a wide range of skills, including fitting, fabrication, welding and servicing.

About You

  • Mechanically biased maintenance engineer
  • A Level 3 qualification in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
  • Experience within manufacturing / heavy industry environments
  • Diagnostics experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and drive systems
  • Arc & MIG welding and basic fabrication
  • Knowledge of cutting and grinding regulations
  • Bearing fitting and alignment experience
