About the Role

The Macmillan Cancer Information & Support Service (MCISS) aims to provide a comprehensive Cancer Information and Support Service to Bolton residents. We are seeking an experienced Information Assistant to join the team at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. You will work with the MCISS team and volunteers across three centres in Bolton, helping to deliver this important service for people affected by cancer. Duties include meeting service users, assessing needs, identifying support required, and providing individuals with access to information and intervention. The role requires sensitive and compassionate communication with patients, families, and carers.

What You Need

  • Highly organised with excellent IT skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and use own initiative
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of dealing with distressed or anxious patients (ideal)
  • Experience within a healthcare setting – oncology/cancer care experience advantageous
