HR Officer (Initially 6 month Fixed Term contract)

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a proactive and experienced HR Officer for an initial 6-month fixed term contract. The role offers a salary of £22,549 - £24,882 per annum, full-time 37.5 hours Monday to Friday, with hybrid working options.

Our team of doctors, nurses and other professional staff provide expert care and support for local people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home. We not only take care of patients' physical needs, we consider their emotional, spiritual and social needs too. And we support families and close friends, both during illness and in bereavement.

The Role

The HR Officer will work alongside the HR Manager and HR & Education Administrator to provide a high quality, comprehensive and effective generalist human resources service for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. This is a vital role, supporting the HR Manager in the delivery of objectives and providing professional advice and support to both staff and managers across the organisation on all employment issues. This will include supporting managers through all stages of employment matters, providing advice and guidance to empower them to take responsibility for people management. The post holder will also be involved in all stages of the employee lifecycle, as well as assisting with policy development and project work.

What You Need

  • Substantial experience in an advisory role
  • Ability to build positive relationships with staff at all levels
  • Deal with issues sensitively and confidentially
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong IT and organisational skills
  • Sound understanding of HR policies and procedures
  • Up to date knowledge of employment law and best practice
  • Understanding of or experience working within a clinical/NHS environment would be useful but not essential
