Bank Catering Assistant
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Bank Catering Assistant to provide cover in its kitchens. The role involves food preparation, service, and maintaining high hygiene standards. Candidates need experience in a catering environment, knowledge of dietary requirements, and a Level 2 Food Safety certificate. The position requires flexibility to work ad hoc hours including weekends, and offers £9.55 per hour.

The Role
Working in a busy hospice environment, the role will support the effective running of our Catering service during periods of staff leave, absences and during busy periods. We work over a 7 day rota, between 8.00am and 6.00pm, including weekends. Our Catering Assistants provide a high standard of catering to patients, staff and visitors to the hospice. Duties would include preparing food and presenting and delivering food items around the hospice as required, whilst ensuring the food preparation areas and equipment are kept clean. Uniform will be provided and subsidised meals are available to staff at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal].
What you need
We are looking for someone with experience of working within a catering environment, ideally with experience in a clinical or care home setting. The post holder should have a good knowledge of special dietary requirements and hold a Level 2 Food Safety certificate (or be willing to gain this qualification on appointment). You must be able to work well in a team and have good interpersonal and communication skills, along with a non-judgmental and empathetic approach.
