The Role
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] are searching for a highly motivated and versatile individual to join our exciting and successful Geoenvironmental Division. A successful applicant would be a problem solver, ready to push the boundary of their existing knowledge and learn new skills. As a member of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s Geoenvironmental Division you will be required to undertake a combination of office and site based work, supporting UK–wide delivery of development schemes. Key Responsibilities
- Desk studies and preliminary risk assessments.
- Field based work undertaken across the UK, including site management of ground investigations, soil & groundwater sampling, logging of soils to British Standards, and in-situ field testing.
- Collection of environmental samples and management of sample collection paperwork.
- Compilation of site data for factual reports and development of interpretive reports including conceptual site models and risk assessments.
- Work collaboratively with other sectors/disciplines to ensure project integrity.
- Produce project outputs (documentation, reports, specifications) meeting client expectations and [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] requirements.
- Develop effective working relationships with Project Manager and client.
- Develop understanding of services delivered by [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] and client's business.
You & Your Experience
- BSc qualified (or higher) in Geology, Environmental Geoscience, Environmental Science or similar.
- Entry level experience of working in geo–environmental projects (contamination or geotechnical).
- Ability to work both independently and within a local office–based team.
- Experience of working on site and supervising contractors (e.g. drilling teams).
- Capable of logging soil and bedrock to current standards.
- Proficient report writer – some knowledge of Environmental Phase 1 & 2 reporting.
- Awareness of potential risks associated with geo–environmental investigations.
- Member of a relevant society (Geological Society of London, SoBRA, IES, etc).
- Full clean UK driving licence (Manual), valid passport and right to work in the UK required.
