FULL DESCRIPTION

Deputy Head of Care

The Deputy Head of Care supports the Head of Care in managing the care department, ensuring high standards of person-centred care, supervising staff, and covering the department in the Head's absence. Requires at least 5 years care experience and Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Motivate and enable staff to meet full potential as effective practitioners of high quality care.
  • Deployment, support and supervision of care staff team.
  • Provide personal care in a way that respects dignity and promotes independence.
  • Work with activity team to provide full range of activities.
  • Oversee apprentice programme and develop apprentices.
  • Ensure safe working practices and maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care or equivalent (Essential)
  • Medication Administration, Food Hygiene, First Aid (Essential)
  • Level 4 or 5 Diploma in Adult Care or Leadership (Desirable)
