About the Role
As a Runner, you will be the vital link between our kitchen and front-of-house teams, ensuring smooth and efficient service throughout the day. Your role will support the overall dining experience by delivering food and beverages promptly, assisting with basic preparation tasks, and maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the service areas. This part-time, permanent position offers a competitive hourly wage of £10.85 to £12.71, reflecting your skills and dedication to the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering food and drink orders promptly from the kitchen to customers or serving staff.
- Assisting chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation and plating tasks when required.
- Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of service stations and dining areas during shifts.
- Clearing tables and returning used crockery, cutlery and glassware to the kitchen.
- Supporting front-of-house staff during busy periods to ensure excellent customer service.
- Adhering to health and safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Reporting any issues or feedback to supervisors promptly.
- Helping to restock supplies and replenish condiments as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a hospitality or catering environment is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong team player attitude and willingness to assist colleagues.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.
- Basic understanding of health and safety and food hygiene principles.
- Reliable, punctual and with a positive work ethic.
