Salary: In line with IPSA pay scales for Caseworkers

Length of Contract: Fixed term cover for long term sick leave

Job Details

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is recruiting a Caseworker in her constituency office on a fixed term basis for six months with possibility of extension, to offer a first-class service to constituents who contact her seeking help and assistance. The role has a split contract, predominately working for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] but with a small amount of work for the Hazel Grove Constituency [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal].

Main Duties

  • Respond to large number of enquiries from members of the public by phone, email, social media or face to face.
  • Draft responses to constituents, liaising with government agencies, voluntary sector and others as appropriate to resolve constituency matters.
  • Organise and assist with surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate.
  • Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP, ensuring each case is properly documented on our casework management software.
  • When applicable, help to manage visits to relevant organisations and manage the diary appropriately, and assist with other matters in the constituency office.

  • Ability to learn and advise on a range of casework issues.
  • Good knowledge of office-based IT systems and administrative tasks.

  • Ability to gain awareness of the activities of an MP's office, policy and law.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a sensitive and public facing role.
  • Sound ability to deal effectively, sensitively, with a wide range of people in person, by telephone and in writing (email and letter).
