Role Overview

During the General Election, the Email Marketing Team will be responsible for supporting our national campaign by mobilising activists to join the campaign in our target seats, raising vital campaign funds, and sharing our policies, manifesto and media highlights with our Members, Supporters and voters.

As one of our Email Copywriters, you will join this team for the short campaign, using your creativity and strategic writing skills to create engaging, persuasive and high-quality copy.

Person Specification

You will be a talented copywriter and communicator, capable of communicating big ideas simply and emotively, with the ability to adapt your writing for different audiences, formats and writing as different speakers.

To support the overall function of the department, you will also ideally be able to work with data and audience lists to assist the team with segmentation and building email campaigns on our email system, assist with sourcing and editing images for content, as well as using reporting features to analyse the effectiveness of our campaigns and review recipient feedback.

Due to the fast-paced nature of the short campaign, you will be able to work quickly and efficiently, within a high-pressure environment. A good temperament to deal with the unexpected is a must.

Skills Required

  • Excellent Writing Skills: You have a proven track record of writing clear, compelling, and persuasive copy, preferably for email, with a keen understanding of effective storytelling and messaging.
  • Attention to Detail: You have exceptional proofreading skills and a meticulous eye for detail, ensuring the accuracy and professionalism of all communications, particularly when working at speed.
  • Technical Proficiency: You are comfortable with digital tools and platforms and can navigate and utilise them effectively.
  • Communication Skills: You excel in communication and collaboration, working effectively with others while working remotely.
