Operational Learning & Development Coordinator

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Limited, the operator of the Tyne Tunnels, is hiring a full-time Learning & Development Coordinator based in Wallsend, North Tyneside. Salary: £32,789 – £34,473 per annum. Closing date: 5th May 2025.

Main Responsibilities

  • Operate within all [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s policies and procedures, and display the company values.
  • Work with relevant departments to design and develop training programs ensuring consistency across all departments.
  • Map out training plans and schedules for internal and external training to keep all staff skills up to date.
  • Ensure regulatory training is scheduled and in date.
  • Accurately record training and competency records, communicate training appointments effectively.
  • Collaborate with department managers to complete training needs analysis.
  • Provide guidance to the management team on all training-related topics.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Achieved or working towards a recognised training qualification (Level 3 AET, A1 Assessors award, Train the Trainer or equivalent).
  • 2 years previous experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to use a coaching style approach to performance management.
  • Ability to motivate learners through open communication and goal setting.
  • High proficiency with PC systems, especially Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.

Desirable: Experience delivering multi-agency training to Tier 1 and Tier 2 Responders, writing/delivering practical exercises, knowledge of JESIP Principles, Joint Decision Model, METHANE. Previous experience as a Bronze Commander is desirable.

Location and Working Hours

Full-time, 37 hours per week, based in Wallsend office. Hours: Monday-Thursday 08:30-16:30, Friday 08:30-16:00 (both with 30-minute unpaid lunch).
