Role Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and complete maintenance activities as directed by the CMMS or prioritised by the Asset Manager / Maintenance Supervisor / Duty Tunnel Controller.
  • Investigation and correction of faults on computerised, PLC, electrical and mechanical equipment, including SCADA system.
  • Carry out servicing, inspection, maintenance and repair of tunnel and toll equipment.
  • Support operational staff during emergency incidents.
  • Assist with operational activity when required for traffic flow efficiency.

Essential Requirements

  • Educated to NVQ City & Guilds Electrical Installations – Level 3 or equivalent
  • BS7671 18th Edition qualified
  • Valid Manual Driving Licence

Desirable Skills

  • Licence to include Trailer/LGV elements
  • Operation of Mobile Elevated Working Platforms
  • Operation of abrasive discs
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Slinging and safe lifting operations
  • Generation and issue of permits to work
  • PAT Testing

Working Hours & Location

Wallsend, North Tyneside. 37 hours per week plus 5.88 average contractual overtime. Shift pattern: 4 x 12.25-hour shifts (2 days, 2 nights) followed by 4 rest days, including bank holidays.
