Job Description

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Plumber to join our Planned Projects team at HMS, part of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Group, covering the North West. You’ll be working across occupied and void properties, delivering high-quality plumbing works while providing an excellent service to our customers.

  • Carry out all aspects of plumbing work, both internal and external, including new installations, maintenance and remedial works
  • Undertake associated trade tasks such as basic plastering, tiling and joinery to support efficient service delivery
  • Plan and organise work effectively to meet priority response times and performance targets
  • Work within scheduled appointment systems, liaising with customers and colleagues
  • Diagnose faults, carry out pre-measuring and determine repair requirements in line with contractual guidelines
  • Supervise and support apprentices or trainees when required
  • Use mobile and IT systems to receive instructions, complete work orders and order materials
  • Ensure accurate completion of all documentation and system updates
  • Drive and maintain a company vehicle, stock and equipment responsibly
  • Manage materials efficiently, minimising waste and delays
  • Comply fully with Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work
  • Participate in training, development and competency programmes
  • Work collaboratively with schedulers, planners, customer liaison officers and contractors
  • Participate in an out-of-hours rota when required (additional payment applies)

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing or a relevant craft discipline
  • Valid CSCS card at the appropriate level
  • Full UK or EU driving licence
  • Completed, time-served apprenticeship
  • Proven experience in plumbing, building maintenance and construction
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
