Job Description
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Plumber to join our Planned Projects team at HMS, part of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Group, covering the North West. You’ll be working across occupied and void properties, delivering high-quality plumbing works while providing an excellent service to our customers.
- Carry out all aspects of plumbing work, both internal and external, including new installations, maintenance and remedial works
- Undertake associated trade tasks such as basic plastering, tiling and joinery to support efficient service delivery
- Plan and organise work effectively to meet priority response times and performance targets
- Work within scheduled appointment systems, liaising with customers and colleagues
- Diagnose faults, carry out pre-measuring and determine repair requirements in line with contractual guidelines
- Supervise and support apprentices or trainees when required
- Use mobile and IT systems to receive instructions, complete work orders and order materials
- Ensure accurate completion of all documentation and system updates
- Drive and maintain a company vehicle, stock and equipment responsibly
- Manage materials efficiently, minimising waste and delays
- Comply fully with Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work
- Participate in training, development and competency programmes
- Work collaboratively with schedulers, planners, customer liaison officers and contractors
- Participate in an out-of-hours rota when required (additional payment applies)
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing or a relevant craft discipline
- Valid CSCS card at the appropriate level
- Full UK or EU driving licence
- Completed, time-served apprenticeship
- Proven experience in plumbing, building maintenance and construction
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
