Health & Safety Manager

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Health & Safety Manager. Salary from £45k-£55k per annum, 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Based in Horwich, Bolton.

The Role

  • Develop, lead and manage the Compliance, Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental functions of the company.
  • Ensure processes consistently comply with legislative requirements and formal management systems such as ISO.
  • Drive forward high standards of compliance and health & safety across [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] by imparting specialist knowledge through education, communication and training.
  • Develop and implement control systems to prevent violations of legislative guidelines and internal policies.
  • Develop, implement and maintain an effective staff training matrix to ensure compliance.
  • In conjunction with operational managers, develop Safe Working Procedures (SWP) across all areas.

What You Need

  • Significant demonstrable experience in a senior compliance or health & safety management role.
  • Recognised safety qualification such as IOSH, NEBOSH or higher.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
  • Proven track record of delivering continuous operational improvements.
  • Confident and professional manner.
  • Experience of people management in an industrial/processing environment.
  • Outstanding planning and organisational skills.
  • Lead auditor qualification or willingness to complete.
  • Environmental qualification desirable.
  • Experience in recycling, waste or comparable industries advantageous.

  • Salary from £45k-£55k per annum, DOE.
