Stores/Warehouse Assistant

Requirements

Having a good standard of education including maths and English, a good telephone manner and proven experience of working within a similar environment you will have a professional, first-class customer first approach with the ability to confidently work both well in a team and using your own initiative. You will need to be able to multitask (picking stock, taking phone calls, replying to emails) and be able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.

Main Duties

  • Keeping up to date with all company products, training.
  • Developing detailed knowledge and understanding of the required products portfolio to be able to confidently select and procure for unit builds and/or for spares.
  • Offloading of deliveries, checking of delivery notes and receiving in goods accurately to the stock system.
  • Accurately processing/picking order requests for all stock items ready for build boxes or to dispatch and/or ensure stock is loaded onto vehicles to ensure the product(s) is delivered on time.
  • Building excellent working relationships, liaising professionally with colleagues, and suppliers in person, by telephone and by email.
  • Ensuring all customer requests, orders, and complaints are dealt with in an effective, accurate and timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Raising sales quotations for the customer at the most competitive price from preferred suppliers and providing the necessary follow up call to complete the order.
  • Effectively sourcing and ordering non-stocked items from suppliers.
  • Ensuring stock levels are maintained to the prescribed levels for the branch and ensuring that the stock inventory is always correct.
  • Actively participate in stock take activities throughout the year.
  • Ensuring all returned products (including those under warranty) are dealt with promptly and in line with the warranty returns policy.
  • Ensuring all branch administration e.g., filing, and records are kept in an ordered way and in line with company guidelines.
  • Always maintaining a clean and safe environment, complying with all health and safety requirements including, but not limited to, wearing PPE at all times (PPE is provided).
  • Undertaking driver duties for the branch as requested. Therefore, a full UK driving licence is a requirement of this role.
  • Whilst on driving duties, complying with health and safety requirements, ensuring your vehicle is loaded safely, is roadworthy before every journey through daily vehicle checks, reporting all vehicle defects to the Line Manager as appropriate for your branch and completing trip logs.
  • Driving safely, following all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Ensuring vehicles are kept clean and tidy.
  • Keeping accurate records of deliveries and customer authorisation and ensuring all documentation is submitted to management on time.

FLT experience beneficial, but training can be provided.
