Job Description

I’m working with a fantastic law firm based in Staines-upon-Thames that’s looking for an experienced Senior Care Solicitor to join their team. If you’ve got a strong background in Child Care law and want to take a step into a leadership role, this could be the perfect opportunity!

This isn’t just about handling your own caseload (although you’ll definitely be doing that too), you’ll also be playing a key role in managing and mentoring the team, overseeing caseloads, and driving the department forward. There’s a real focus on departmental development, client relationship-building, and even shaping strategy at a senior level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling a full range of Child Care cases from start to finish, representing children, guardians, parents, and other family members
  • Supervising junior solicitors and paralegals to ensure they manage their caseloads effectively
  • Taking on your own advocacy where possible
  • Sharing technical expertise and mentoring the team
  • Growing the department via new work generation and strengthening client relationships
  • Ensuring high standards in case management and compliance with legal aid protocols
  • Working with leadership to shape departmental strategy and meet performance targets

Requirements

  • Solid Child Care experience, ideally with Children Panel membership (or working towards)
  • Senior solicitor with mentoring and management skills
  • Commercially minded and interested in departmental growth
  • Comfortable with advocacy and confident managing own cases and leading a team
  • Wants to shape the future of the department and firm

Why This Role?

  • Hybrid working options
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Career progression and development
  • Opportunity to make an impact at senior level
  • Supportive, forward-thinking team culture
