IT Assistant

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:00, 40 hours per week

- 23 days' holiday each year plus bank holidays

Role Responsibilities
- Providing first-line support to colleagues across all sites for hardware, software, telecommunications and network issues
- Ensure first level of preventative and curative operations on hardware in the server room: network, servers, providing remote hands to external IT as required
- Setting up/repairing and configuring old/new computers, phones, printers, and other peripherals for new starters
- Assisting with user account set up and management, e.g. access rights, computer/system logins, emails, etc
- Supporting and implementing any new software applications and updates to existing software packages
- Training users in correct usage of their devices
- Liaising with third party support entities and working with them to ensure adherence to agreed SLA’s
- Assisting with identifying trends relating to IT failures and issues
- Supporting with product development to improve systems and processes
- Maintaining data backups, system documentation, asset databases and assisting in disaster recovery procedures
- Supporting with the delivery of projects in line with business requirements
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures, projects and governance
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a similar role within an IT department (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Good knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office and Office 365 Suite
- Good knowledge of Outlook and Active Directory
- Basic knowledge of TCP / IP network (DHCP, DNS etc.)
- A technical mindset with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts
- An understanding of PC hardware and software
- Any experience within the automotive industry would be an advantage
- Attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently when required
- Flexible approach to work and adaptable in a busy and changing environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Proactive and positive approach to different tasks and projects
