About the Role

This exciting role is open to either an experienced Radiology Manager or a Consultant Radiologist with proven leadership ability and a strong track record in clinical governance and business development.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across all imaging modalities, ensuring the delivery of world-class, patient-centered care. They will be responsible for growing the service, strengthening referral networks, and ensuring financial sustainability while maintaining compliance with CQC, IR(ME)R 2017, and UK health regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Governance: Provide strategic direction, champion clinical governance, ensure regulatory compliance (CQC, IR(ME)R, Health & Safety).
  • Service Growth & Business Development: Drive business development, expand referral networks, develop strategies to grow imaging volumes, support new services.
  • Operational Management: Oversee MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-ray; manage budgets, KPIs, equipment safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead multidisciplinary team, recruit, train, and develop staff, foster culture of excellence.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Work with hospital leadership, consultants, drive innovation in imaging and image-guided interventions.

Candidate Profile

Option A: Radiology Manager – HCPC-registered Radiographer, BSc in Radiography, substantial experience managing diagnostic imaging services, strong background in clinical governance and business development.

Option B: Consultant Radiologist (Leadership Path) – GMC-registered Consultant Radiologist with broad imaging experience (MRI and CT), demonstrated leadership and governance, strong business acumen.

For Both Profiles: Extensive knowledge of UK radiology regulations (CQC, IR(ME)R 2017), proven track record in business development and service expansion, excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, experience in budget and performance management.

Desirable: Experience in private healthcare, MSc in Radiology Leadership, knowledge of PACS/RIS systems.
