About the role

This is a key senior role within our Revenues and Benefits service, where your expertise will directly support high‑quality Council Tax and Business Rates delivery across West Northamptonshire. As Lead Revenues Officer, you’ll act as the service’s technical authority, bridging operational delivery and strategic leadership. Working closely with Team Leaders and the Revenues Manager, you’ll help ensure our services are accurate, compliant and continuously improving which will make a real difference for residents and businesses alike.

What will you be doing?

You’ll lead with confidence and insight, providing expert guidance on complex and sensitive revenues matters while supporting teams to deliver consistently high standards. Alongside managing specialist teams, you’ll help resolve escalated issues, assure quality across the service, and play an active role in annual billing, system developments and service improvements. This is a varied, influential role where your technical knowledge, coaching approach and problem‑solving skills will shape outcomes and build capability across the service.

About you

You’re an experienced Revenues professional with strong technical knowledge of Council Tax and/or Business Rates and a passion for getting things right. You enjoy tackling complex challenges, sharing your expertise and supporting others to develop. Confident, organised and collaborative, you’re comfortable working at pace, influencing decisions and contributing to service improvement. Most of all, you’re motivated by public service and want to be part of an organisation that values ambition, innovation and empowering people to thrive.
