About the Role
Are you a Graduate looking to further your experience with mental health? Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN)? Are you eager to work in a rewarding and friendly environment where no two days are the same?
A Special Needs School for children with disabilities are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate to join their team as an SEN Teaching Assistant. This is the perfect opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain experience working with individuals with learning difficulties and mental health challenges.
Responsibilities
- Support children aged 3 to 18 with a range of additional needs including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning difficulties, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and physical disabilities.
- Provide emotional and academic support to ensure all pupils are supported.
- Help with education in Maths and English, as well as equip pupils with life skills such as social skills, interpersonal skills and independent living skills.
- Assist with lessons in art, music, cooking and outdoor education.
- Work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm.
Requirements
- Recent university graduate (Psychology or Criminology preferred).
- Passion for working with children with SEN and mental health.
- Ability to tailor approach to each child's needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Benefits
