Job Description

Teaching Assistant (SEN - Challenging Behaviour) - Immediate Start

Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Role: Primary SEN Teaching Assistant (Term-Time, Temporary, at least 6 week assignment)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Rate: £95 – £120 per day (inclusive of holiday pay)
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Doncaster. Your focus will be on de-escalation, building trust, and implementing structured strategies to support positive engagement and learning.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience supporting children with SEN, particularly challenging behaviour, in a school or similar setting
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies, de-escalation techniques, and support for ASD/SEMH
  • A calm, consistent and resilient approach, with the ability to build trust and encourage positive behaviour
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply quickly)
