Asset Management Excellence Lead

What you'll do

  • Lead a portfolio of asset management improvement projects and initiatives, from problem definition and business case development through to delivery, benefits realisation and post‑implementation review.
  • Plan, mobilise and govern asset management change initiatives, ensuring clear scope, milestones, dependencies, risks and benefits are actively managed.
  • Design and implement practical asset management solutions (processes, tools and guidance) as part of discrete projects and wider improvement programmes.
  • Deliver projects that translate asset management strategy, organisational objectives and regulatory requirements into tangible outcomes across systems, processes and ways of working.
  • Drive consistent implementation of asset management practices across projects, programmes and business areas.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to improve asset data quality, information governance and information flows in support of better decision making.
  • Provide expert asset management input to major programmes, including asset information systems, decision support tools and digital initiatives.
  • Lead or support the development of robust project business cases, including options appraisal, cost‑risk‑benefit assessment and benefits tracking.
  • Ensure project outcomes are sustained through effective change management, including stakeholder engagement, communication, training and handover to business‑as‑usual.
  • Represent asset management best practice on project boards, programme governance forums and cross‑functional working groups.

What you'll need

  • Experience in asset management within infrastructure or regulated industries.
  • Understanding of ISO 55000 and Institute of Asset Management (IAM) principles, and how to apply them in practice.
  • An IAM qualification at Certificate level (or higher).
  • Experience leading improvement or change initiatives.
  • Project management qualified, such as Prince 2.
  • Strong capability in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Strong project and change‑management skills, with the ability to translate strategy into practical, deliverable outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • A confident, constructive approach to challenge and continuous improvement.
  • An analytical mindset, with strong attention to detail and a focus on value and benefits realisation.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively across a complex organisation.
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, able to balance competing demands and deliver to deadlines.
  • A pragmatic, customer‑focused approach, with a commitment to keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Full UK driving licence.

This role will be based at our head office in Bath.
