FULL DESCRIPTION

Civils Team Leader

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Civils Team Leader in Yeovil. This is a permanent, on-site position offering £35,000 to £38,000 per year.

What you'll do

As a Working Team Leader, you will have day-to-day responsibility for managing a multi-disciplined team of two to six people. The works may be located on waste or supply treatment works and drinking water tanks/compartments throughout our region.

The projects will involve minor civil engineering solutions, including mechanical works (installing new and modifying existing pipework), excavations up to 3m and installations of concrete chambers below and above ground.

You will also install reinforced slabs and carry out reservoir refurbishment repairs to concrete surfaces, both external and internal, to protect against water ingress and leakage.

You will be required to carry out health and safety inspections, issue permits, allocate labour, manage sub-contractors, purchase materials, site setup and ensure safe working practices on site.

  • Strong minor civil engineering experience
  • Experience operating plant machinery, such as excavators or dumpers
  • Valid UK driving licence and proven towing experience
  • Preferred: Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme Course (CITB SSSTS) and confined space training
  • Environmentally aware with understanding of sensitive locations
