This highly regarded SEN school are seeking a compassionate Assistant Head Teacher with a strong commitment to inclusive education and SEND provision to join their senior leadership team from September 2026. This is such an amazing opportunity for an experienced leader who is passionate about ensuring every child, regardless of their background or need, is supported to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in strategic school improvements and leadership decision making
  • Contribute to behaviour and safeguarding support, attendance and student wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with families and any external professionals
  • Use assessment and data intelligently to improve outcomes for vulnerable learners
  • Support staff to deliver inclusive and adaptive teaching across the curriculum
  • Ensure high quality provision for students with SEND and additional needs
  • Lead whole school inclusion and SEND strategy

  • Excellent example in leading the classroom with strong SEND expertise
  • Leadership experience in inclusion, SEND or pastoral support
  • Deep understanding of adaptive teaching
  • Confidence in leading and supporting staff through change and development
  • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, families and professionals
  • High expectations and passionate belief in equality for all students
  • Resilience and value-driven approach
