This Mental Health Teaching Assistant role in a highly regarded specialist setting in Oxford involves supporting learners with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will help ensure they have the necessary tools to support their nervous systems and regulate their emotions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general classroom support to the class teacher
- Help manage general classroom behaviour
- Assist with lesson preparation
- Keep the classroom tidy
- Listen to students read and practice their phonics
- Provide extra support to children with learning difficulties
Ideal Candidate
- Calm, compassionate, and confident
- Takes initiative and adapts approach to match children's needs
- Experience working with children is beneficial but not essential
- Personality is most important – confident and bubbly
- Working towards a career in psychology, education or related field
