Job Description

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teacher to work in a special school or specialist SEN provision in Huddersfield. This is a full-time short-term supply role with a focus on delivering personalized education to students with a wide range of disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience working in a special school or specialist SEN provision
  • Identifying needs, assessing levels of ability and planning sessions which will meet the requirements of the children and develop their learning.
  • Effectively delivering the personalised curriculum ensuring that the individual needs and interests of the children in the setting are met and supporting other team members to do this.
  • Supporting the children throughout the day in order to develop independence, facilitate participation and learning, and develop physical and communication skills.
  • Contributing towards designing and managing a varied and balanced curriculum to meet the needs of every student within the resources available, in accordance with the mission and ethos of the school.
  • To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for young children with a wide range of disabilities to develop a degree of independence and to improve quality of life.
