Job Description

You will be responsible for building and testing a range of complex assemblies, working from engineering drawings and established manufacturing processes to ensure consistent quality and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems from engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Build sub-assemblies and full systems with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Interpret BOMs and ensure all components are fitted to required tolerances
  • Carry out basic fault finding and support root cause analysis of build issues
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and quality throughout the assembly process
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in build efficiency and output
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to meet deadlines

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of tolerances
  • Experience using measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, verniers, calipers)
  • Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving ability
  • Knowledge of general machining processes (manual or CNC desirable)
  • Familiarity with MRP systems and production documentation advantageous
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
  • Understanding of health & safety and workshop best practices
  • Ideally 5+ years' experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment

Working Hours & Benefits

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 15:30
  • Friday: 07:00 - 12:00 (early finish)
  • Option to start at 06:00 and finish earlier
  • 20 days holiday + bank holidays
