Job Description
You will be responsible for building and testing a range of complex assemblies, working from engineering drawings and established manufacturing processes to ensure consistent quality and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems from engineering drawings and work instructions
- Build sub-assemblies and full systems with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Interpret BOMs and ensure all components are fitted to required tolerances
- Carry out basic fault finding and support root cause analysis of build issues
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and quality throughout the assembly process
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in build efficiency and output
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to meet deadlines
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of tolerances
- Experience using measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, verniers, calipers)
- Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of general machining processes (manual or CNC desirable)
- Familiarity with MRP systems and production documentation advantageous
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
- Understanding of health & safety and workshop best practices
- Ideally 5+ years' experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment
Working Hours & Benefits
- Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 15:30
- Friday: 07:00 - 12:00 (early finish)
- Option to start at 06:00 and finish earlier
