The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher of Humanities to join our team. This role would suit a teacher with experience in History, Geography, RE, PSHE or a broader Humanities background. Humanities is an important part of our curriculum and helps students to develop knowledge, curiosity, communication and understanding of the wider world.
You will:
- Teach Humanities across KS3 and KS4.
- Plan and deliver a sequenced Humanities curriculum that builds students’ knowledge, understanding and confidence over time.
- Plan engaging, well-structured lessons with clear routines, modelling and scaffolding that support all learners.
- Use assessment and feedback effectively to improve outcomes over time.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and therapists to reduce barriers and strengthen progress.
- Contribute to enrichment opportunities and authentic outcomes that enrich students’ understanding of the wider world.
Who We Are Looking For
- An excellent classroom practitioner with a calm, consistent approach aligned to an ASD/SEND setting.
- Experience teaching Humanities, for example History, Geography, RE, PSHE or related subjects.
- Understands how to adapt teaching for autistic students (structure, predictability, modelling and supported independence).

- High expectations and a commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
- We welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and will provide a strong programme of support and development.
