About the Role

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated educator looking to make a real impact on young minds? We are seeking a motivated and inspiring SEN Teacher to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our children and young people. This role is an interim maternity cover position, offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our school community and make a meaningful difference during this period. An interest or experience in Humanities would be highly advantageous.

What you’ll be doing

  • Plan, deliver and assess outstanding teaching and learning using proven methods and approaches that enable autistic young people to learn.
  • Be a class tutor, ensuring pastoral needs are met and establishing excellent relationships with parents and carers.
  • Teach a range of subjects across the curriculum and lead in a subject area.
  • The willingness to plan and deliver lessons which teaches essential and life skills.
  • Build team commitment with colleagues and in the classroom.
  • Engage in whole school activities as required by the Headteacher.
  • Plan and lead children in off-site enrichment activities.

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A qualification in SEND education is desirable
  • The ability to teach History and Humanities
  • Experience of working with children and young people with SEND and ASC
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate children and young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching methods
