Role Overview

This role will play a key part in the planning and execution of all testing within [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Financial Services, including regular release testing for the Retail Banking and Wholesale Banking platforms, project testing and supporting testing on change requests to ensure any deployments into the production environments do not negatively impact the business.

The successful candidate will have a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills and a proactive approach, able to work on their own initiative.

Main Responsibilities

  • Review and collaborate with Business Analysts to ensure requirements are testable.
  • Create and execute test plans.
  • Creation of test cases.
  • Reviewing test cases developed by other testers or business users.
  • Assist with test data creation and other test cycle set-up activities.
  • Prioritise and manage the execution of test cases and capture of relevant test evidence.
  • Review and manage issues/incidents identified on test environments.
  • Raising, reviewing, and retesting of defects, working with suppliers where required.
  • Promote testing best practice and drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist with test reporting including the upkeep of Jira filters and dashboards.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Required

  • Evidence of previous testing experience.
  • ISEB/ISTQB Foundation level holder preferred or equivalent commercial work experience.
  • Able to create test cases and test data from requirements documentation.
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Exposure to automation tools.
  • Analytical problem solver with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to build effective relationships with all areas of the business.
  • Self-motivated with good organisational and planning skills to ensure department and business objectives are achieved.
  • Methodical in approach and good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines against SLA’s.

Desirable

  • Experience with the financial services or automotive sectors.
  • Exposure to core banking systems.
  • Experienced working with Jira X-ray.
  • Basic SQL knowledge for simple database queries.
