Purpose of the Role

We are looking for drivers that share our ambitious vision and values to make Bristol a cleaner and greener place. As a Class 2 Driver/Loader you will be driving the company vehicle safely, load, transport and unload waste and recycling materials according to customer requirements, [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Company procedure and all external legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive/operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and legal requirements.
• Ensure route completion and tasks are completed to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Company’s required standards.
• Tipping of vehicle at designated refuse facility and load/unload waste materials in accordance with policy and legal requirements.
• Use mobile IT equipment and complete daily paperwork.
• Undertake any training or instruction required.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of vehicles, including daily vehicle checks.
• Deal with colleagues, customers and other personnel in a polite and professional manner.
• Remain in contact with Supervisor and office staff, respond to operational needs.
• Work flexibly between locations (Avonmouth, Albert Road, Hartcliffe) to provide operational cover.
• Comply with all [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Company reporting procedures and attend all relevant training.

Essential Requirements

• Must hold a Class 2 licence, CPC and Digital Drivers Card.
• Experience or ability to undertake regular vehicle checks including oil, water and battery levels.
• Experience or ability for physical work involving pushing/pulling waste bins and lifting recycling boxes up to 25kg.
• Ability to understand and complete daily defect sheets.
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
• Ability to work well within a small team.
• Ability to use IT systems.
