About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Head of Projects to establish and lead a Project Management Office (PMO) within [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal].

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of engineering projects across the business. You will introduce best-practice project management methodologies, oversee project delivery, and support the development of project elements within our evolving ERP systems.

Working closely with engineering teams, leadership, and key stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead a PMO framework and project governance structure
  • Define project scope, plans, and deliverables from initiation to completion
  • Lead and support project managers and cross-functional teams
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining quality standards
  • Communicate progress, milestones, and risks to stakeholders
  • Implement and improve project management methodologies and processes

About You – Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience leading complex cross-functional projects
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and project financials
  • Knowledge of project methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid
  • Proficiency with project tools such as MS Project, Jira, or Microsoft 365
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Desirable

  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central or Dynamics 365 Project Operations
  • Prince2 or equivalent programme management qualification
  • Degree in Engineering, Science, or related discipline
