FULL DESCRIPTION
People Partner (Europe & US)
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a People Partner to support their Europe and US portfolio. Based in Edinburgh, the role involves business partnering, employee relations, talent management, HR operations, and global talent acquisition. The ideal candidate has experience as a strategic People Partner in a global matrix organisation.
The Role
We are looking for a People Partner to support our Europe and US business portfolio. You will be based in Edinburgh, report to the Director of Global Talent Acquisition & People Partnering, who is based in Copenhagen, and act as a trusted partner to employees, managers and leadership teams across the portfolio.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Business Partnering Support – Act as the first point of contact for employees and line managers in day-to-day HR matters, supporting the Director of People Partnering in translating business needs into HR solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping people strategies that align with wider business objectives, proactively identifying opportunities to drive organisational growth and foster a high-performance culture.
- Employee Relations & Compliance – Provide guidance on policies and procedures, handle day-to-day employee relations cases (sickness absence, performance issues, probation reviews), and ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation. You will contribute to establishing a positive employee experience and supporting the development of robust frameworks to sustain organisational excellence.
- Talent & Development – Support talent management, learning and development activities, assist in performance management processes, and track individual development plans. You will help shape the talent pipeline and implement development initiatives that position the organisation for long-term success.
- HR Operations – Coordinate HR lifecycle administration (onboarding, transfers, exits), prepare HR data and reports, and support payroll and benefits queries. Your analytical insights will inform strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement across the business.
- Global Talent Acquisition - Support Global Talent Acquisition activities, ensuring a high-quality recruitment experience for both local and expatriate hires, and advising the business on local hiring requirements.
Your Experience
- Operating as a true strategic People Partner in a global, matrix organisation, thinking beyond a defined role scope to add value where it matters most.
- Proactively engaging with leadership and management teams, staying close to the business to deeply understand their challenges, priorities and decision-making context.
- Ability to get to the heart of projects and people-related opportunities and risks, translating business needs into practical, people-focused outcomes.
- Strong business advocacy skills, with the credibility to influence, challenge and support leaders constructively.
- Skilled at ‘selling’ global initiatives through a local-market lens, ensuring relevance, buy‑in and effective adoption across regions.
- Trusted relationship-builder with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Naturally curious, solutions-focused and driven by a growth mindset.
- Comfortable handling sensitive matters with confidentiality and sound judgement.
- Solid grounding in employee relations, strategic HR, compliance and relevant employment legislation.
