Purchasing Assistant - Europe

Location: Unit 2 Clipper Boulevard, Crossways Commercial Park, Dartford, DA2 6QB, United Kingdom

Base Pay: £28,000 - £30,000 / Year

Description

Are you looking to kickstart your career in Purchasing or Procurement? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a proactive, positive attitude? Join our friendly purchasing team as our Purchasing Administrator, where you'll gain hands-on experience in international import operations and purchasing processes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a little experience in purchasing, imports, and administration (internship experience counts too!) who's ready to grow in a fast-paced environment. Hours: Monday to Friday, flexible start/finish times (i.e. 7am - 4pm, 8am - 5pm). Starting salary: £28,000 per annum, increasing to £30,000 on successful completion of probation period.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assisting with the preparation and processing of import purchase orders.
  • Communicating with overseas suppliers regarding order details, shipping, and delivery dates.
  • Maintaining purchasing data and records accurately in SAP (training provided).
  • Tracking shipments and assisting with logistics coordination and documentation.
  • Supporting the purchasing team with administrative tasks and daily operations.
  • Providing help with ad hoc activities across the purchasing team as needed.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities follow company procedures and deadlines.

Requirements

What We're Looking For: This role is ideal for someone starting out in their career, with some exposure to purchasing, imports, and administrative support, whether that's through work or internships. Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills. Confident communication skills and a proactive attitude. Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook. Experience with SAP or other ERP systems would be an advantage (but full training will be provided). Eager to learn, adaptable, and willing to assist other team members when needed. A foreign language such as French or Italian would be highly advantageous, but not essential.
