Location: Unit 2 Clipper Boulevard, Crossways Commercial Park, Dartford, DA2 6QB, United Kingdom

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum

Shift: 8-hours, Monday - Friday

Description

The HR Advisor provides proactive and responsive support across all areas of the employee lifecycle, working closely with managers and employees to ensure fair, balanced, and legally compliant outcomes. This role is central to ensuring balance between operational needs and having a people-first approach, where each situation is assessed on its own merits rather than following rigid processes.

Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations and Case Management: Provide advice and support on employee relations matters including absence, conduct, performance, and grievance issues. Manage cases fairly and consistently, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and internal policies while considering individual circumstances. Support managers in preparing for and conducting formal meetings, including investigations and hearings.
  • HR Operations and Support: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records. Ensure the HR system is kept up to date with all employee information and changes. Support the onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring a smooth experience for employees and managers. Assist with policy interpretation and application, ensuring clarity and consistency across departments.
  • Compliance and Best Practice: Ensure all HR activity is aligned with current employment legislation and company values. Contribute to the development of HR practices that reflect fairness, flexibility and operational needs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong working relationships with managers and employees across the business. Act as a trusted advisor, offering practical and tailored HR guidance. Collaborate with the wider HR team to support projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other: Support with recruitment during busy periods including reviewing CVs, arranging interviews and completing onboarding paperwork. Assist with HR projects related to organisational development, training programmes, and employee engagement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an HR advisory role.
  • Experience managing employee relations cases from start to end.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, operational environment.
  • CIPD qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise confidently.
  • Must be commercially minded with the ability to make sound judgements and recommendations.
  • High level of resilience and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to assess situations fairly and pragmatically, without relying solely on process.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Sound understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Discreet and professional, with a commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
