Sample Reception Assistant

About this role

We are currently recruiting for a Sample Reception Assistant to join our client’s busy and well-established soil laboratory. This is a key position within the lab, responsible for the accurate intake and handling of samples prior to analysis. The role is ideal for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and enjoys working a structured, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and book in incoming soil samples accurately and efficiently
• Check samples against documentation to ensure correct information and labelling
• Log and track samples within internal systems
• Organise and store samples ready for the next stage of processing
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe reception/work area
• Support general laboratory operations and assist with ad-hoc duties

Requirements

• Previous experience in a laboratory or similar environment is required
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling data and samples
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as a part of a team
• Ability to follow processes and instructions carefully

Hours & Benefits

Monday to Friday 07:00 AM to 03:30PM. On-site parking available.
