The Team
The Revenue team is part of the wider Finance department, comprising a Senior Revenue Controller, five Revenue Controllers, three Revenue Executives, four Revenue Assistants, and credit control staff.
The Role
The firm raises circa 20,000+ invoices a year. The Revenue Assistant accurately converts work in progress into compliant invoices, secures timely payment, resolves queries, and supports revenue controllers.
Duties include:
- Processing a high number of invoices monthly according to procedures.
- Undertaking debt collection in line with credit control procedures.
- Resolving client queries within appropriate timeframes and escalating as needed.
- Actioning practice team requests efficiently and professionally.
- Recording unpaid invoice information in the debt collection program.
- Providing support to revenue controllers and keeping management informed.
During the first six months, you may be required to attend the office four days per week for onboarding and training; this may be adjusted by your line manager.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years experience as a Revenue Assistant, Biller or Credit Controller in a professional services environment, plus:
- A-Levels or equivalent, with strong interest in career development.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills, with experience liaising with clients, partners, fee-earners, secretaries and finance colleagues.
- Collaborative team player who supports and motivates colleagues, with confidence to raise questions.
- Commitment to highest level of customer service.
- High numeracy and understanding of financial workings.
- Experience with legal systems desirable but not essential; good keyboard skills and competence in Word, Excel and Outlook required.
An eye for detail and ability to act positively, creatively and intuitively when faced with challenges is essential. The job holder works within established billing and debt collection procedures with a high volume of work.
