Main Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Support the accounting team in daily financial tasks.
  • Performing data entry and ensuring the accuracy of financial information.
  • Preparing, checking and posting journals.
  • Preparing self-evident balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Resolving reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Prepare supporting evidence for and respond to audit queries.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Learn and apply accounting principles and practices under the guidance of management accountants.

What you bring

Key Competencies and Skills

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Exposure to a large ERP system, preferably SAP.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to build positive working relationships across finance teams and business units.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop accounting skills.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities based on business requirements.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines.

Education and Experience

  • GCSE strong pass in Mathematics & English (or equivalents).
  • Pursuing or having completed coursework in accounting or finance is a plus.
