HGV Automotive Engineering Assessor / Tutor

Permanent - [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an HGV Automotive Engineering Assessor/Tutor for a permanent full-time position based in Cheshire. The role involves assessing and mentoring apprentices in bus/coach engineering and heavy vehicle maintenance. Candidates must have occupational competency in heavy automotive engineering, a Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanics, and experience in teaching/assessing (training provided).

Job Details

  • Location: Northwich, UK
  • Salary: £38,400 – £42,400 (inclusive of car allowance)
  • Type: Full Time, Permanent, 37 hours per week

Essential Criteria

  • Must hold solid occupational competency within the Heavy Automotive Engineering and Maintenance sector.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Automotive Engineering for HGV and trailers.
  • Must have experience within Teaching / Assessing / Training (full training and support provided).
  • Hold a recognised qualification in Vehicle Mechanics at Level 3 or above.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • Ideally have an understanding of Apprenticeship programmes.
  • Must be flexible with travel.

Duties

  • Assess/mentor learners working towards Apprenticeships in Bus and Coach Engineering, Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician.
  • Meet Assessor KPI’s in terms of timely visits, quality paperwork and general administration.
  • Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely visits and reviews are conducted.
  • Organise and maintain documentation on learners’ progress.
  • Support, advise and motivate learners.
  • Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.
