Overview

The [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] (MRT) is an environmental charity focusing on the protection and enhancement of rivers and waterbodies in the Mersey Catchment. It operates in an area covering Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. The role holder will report directly to the Senior Project Manager for the Upper Mersey Team. We are looking for a competent, dynamic and enthusiastic person with experience in delivery of river improvement and engagement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying and delivering river and floodplain restoration opportunities
  • Engagement activities with stakeholders, landowners and local communities
  • Training and managing volunteers to support invasive non-native species control
  • River monitoring including riverfly and water quality sampling
  • Working throughout the Mersey Basin catchment (home-based with travel)

Requirements

  • Knowledge of catchment management, river restoration, ecology, and physical geography
  • Confidence in communicating with stakeholders, landowners, farmers, local communities and volunteers
  • Experience in delivery of river improvement and engagement projects
