Job Description

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] have a rewarding, part-time position available supporting a young lady with autism whilst she studies at the University of Chester. Please note we don’t offer sponsorship, and candidates must have a right to work in the UK.

About the Person You Will Support

She loves knitting, gardening, and accessing the local community. She has autism, ADHD, Tourette’s, hypermobility, and sometimes uses a wheelchair. She gets anxious quickly and needs support with anxiety. She passed her A Levels and will be attending Chester University. She prefers mature, outgoing people who can engage with her hobbies and interests. She benefits from arriving 20 minutes early to university to manage anxiety and needs a clear exit plan.

Team Details

  • Supported by 1 staff member at all times.
  • 24 hour shifts (sleep over).
  • Team trained in Administration of medication, Autism and Learning Disability training, and [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] mandatory training.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Good communicator to help with anxiety.
  • Good mentor to teach life skills and promote independence.
  • Provide companionship during a transitional period.
  • Ensure safety during university day.
  • Previous experience supporting someone with autism is desirable.
