Paralegal
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an experienced litigation Paralegal to join our team.
Role Overview
This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a vibrant central hub of Paralegals, while also being embedded within a core legal department. You will be supported by a dedicated Paralegal Manager, who will help you develop your career, alongside Partners, Directors and lawyers within your department who will support your legal and technical development.
As a Paralegal at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], you will act as a key point of contact for lawyers and support staff, providing assistance across a range of matters while managing your own caseload where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle your own caseload of files (where appropriate) from instruction, to issuing proceedings and enforcement under supervision.
- Undertake fee-earning work under supervision: creation of first draft client documentation; generation of client care correspondence; maintaining key client relationships; drafting of petition/court documentation; attendance at routine meetings/hearings plus minute taking.
- Deal with routine client enquiries and communications.
- General administrative tasks including monthly reporting and invoicing.
- Deputise for fee earners in their absence, passing urgent issues to a senior fee earner.
- Use telephone for quick response and client chasers.
- Provide support to fee earners in various departments as required.
Requirements
- Hold a Law Degree or Law Conversion qualification with a minimum of 2:1 classification.
- Previous Paralegal experience within a commercial Law Firm, ideally within Litigation.
- Confident communication both verbally and written with senior team members.
- Sufficient IT knowledge of Microsoft programmes, with a focus on Excel.
- Ability to quickly identify clients’ needs and provide excellent service.
- Effectively prioritise tasks based on importance and urgency.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues across multiple departments.
Working Hours & Benefits
Full-time, Monday to Friday 9-5:30. Hybrid working (minimum 60% office-based).
- £26,228 per annum rising to £27,228 after 1-year.
- Annual performance-based bonus scheme.
- Minimum 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, increasing to 31 days, with option to buy up to 5 days.
