Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Cleaning Manager to drive and maintain exceptional high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our three Central London restaurants. This is a hands-on cleaning role managing a small team of restaurant cleaners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all customer facing and back of house areas are cleaned to the highest standard.
  • Implement, monitor, and improve daily, weekly, and deep-clean checklists.
  • Personally inspect sites and lead hands-on cleaning tasks.

Team Management

  • Recruit, train, rota and manage a small in-house cleaning team and agency cleaners.
  • Set expectations, provide training, conduct performance reviews.
  • Oversee internal laundry facility and external providers.

Operational Collaboration

  • Work closely with senior team and heads of department.
  • Support back of house operations for clean, safe environments.
  • Be responsive during service periods to resolve cleanliness issues.
  • Assist with laundry, uniform, and customer dry cleaning needs.

Stock, Equipment & Cost Control

  • Manage all cleaning chemicals, consumables, and equipment.
  • Ensure safe storage, correct labelling, and appropriate use of chemicals.
  • Control costs, minimise waste, operate within budgets.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate cleaning records, audit results, and compliance documentation.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues, pest control, health & safety risks.
  • Support environmental and sustainability initiatives.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a management or supervisory position.
  • Experience managing external cleaning contractors and agency cleaners.
  • Ability to manage multiple sites with hands-on, detail-driven approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, IT literate.

  • Proven experience in similar role.
  • Exceptionally high standards and attention to detail.
  • Hands-on, visible, comfortable in busy restaurant environment.

Working Hours

Full-time 40 hours/5 days. Flexibility required including some weekends.
