Business Development Manager

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth. This is a permanent, full-time, on-site position in Tadcaster, UK with a negotiable salary.

About the Role

As Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth across our full service portfolio. Acting as a trusted advisor to our customers, you’ll identify, develop and convert new opportunities while nurturing long-term strategic partnerships. You’ll own the sales journey end-to-end – from market insight and campaign development through to tendering, negotiation and contract completion – working closely with project teams to ensure commercial success and outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building trusted, strategic relationships with customers at all levels
  • Identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities
  • Creating winning sales strategies and leading tenders from initial engagement to close
  • Developing and managing strategic Key Account plans
  • Acting as the commercial lead during project implementation phases
  • Networking with strategic suppliers to gather market intelligence
  • Leading targeted sales campaigns and supporting wider sales team initiatives
  • Managing commercial negotiations to maximise GP, cashflow and long-term value
  • Maintaining accurate, visible pipelines through effective CRM use

Requirements

  • Proven success in capital equipment, service or solution-based sales
  • High level of commercial and strategic sales awareness
  • Strong background in customer relationship and key account management
  • Experience presenting technical solutions and business value clearly
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team
  • Engineering-related degree or vocational qualification (HNC, HND, apprenticeship)
  • Excellent organisation, time management and presentation skills
  • Strong negotiation capability with the drive to close complex sales
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office and CRM systems
