Job Description
An excellent opportunity has become available for an Optometrist to join a well-established independent practice offering a salary between £60,000 and £70,000 depending on experience. This role is available on a full or part-time basis and provides an excellent work-life balance with no Sunday or bank holiday working.
This independent practice is known for its strong focus on patient care, allowing clinicians the time and professional freedom to deliver high-quality eye examinations without feeling rushed. Testing times are set at 45 minutes, ensuring you can provide a thorough and personalised service to every patient.

The Role
As an Optometrist within the team, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive eye examinations and providing tailored advice to suit each patient’s individual needs and lifestyle. You will play an important role in contact lens fitting and aftercare, ensuring patients feel confident and well-supported throughout their journey.
You will work closely with a supportive team, contributing to a collaborative environment where patient care is always the priority. The role also involves liaising with external healthcare professionals when required, maintaining clinical standards in line with GOC guidelines, and supporting the ongoing success of the practice through your clinical expertise and input.
The Practice
The practice operates as a community-focused independent opticians with two consulting rooms and is equipped with modern technology including OCT and topography, supporting services such as Ortho-K. It offers a varied patient base and is supported by an experienced and friendly team. The location is easily accessible, with good public transport links and parking available nearby.

Requirements
- Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
- Comfortable working within a patient-focused independent environment
- Open to Optometrists at all stages of career (including newly qualified)
- Willingness to work Saturdays
