Job Description
Flame Health’s Audiology division is recruiting for an ambitious and self-motivated Hearing Care Assistant in the Derbyshire area to join one of the leading optical/hearing care groups. As a Hearing Care Assistant, you will support private hearing services, combining excellent clinical skills with strong patient care and practice support.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform otoscopy and Tympa-based assessments
- Deliver Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA) screenings
- Conduct hearing aid reviews, checks, and maintenance
- Carry out ear wax removal (microsuction, irrigation & manual methods)
- Take aural impressions
- Provide empathetic, clear patient support
- Work under the supervision of an HCPC-registered Hearing Aid Dispenser
Practice & Community Engagement
- Support team learning and cross-referral pathways
- Build local relationships with GPs, pharmacies, and community groups
- Assist with diary planning to optimise clinic time
Operational Duties
- Maintain high clinical and regulatory standards
- Ensure Health & Safety compliance
- Represent the provider with professional conduct and presentation
What You’ll Need
- Qualified Hearing Care Assistant (HCA/HCS/HAD Assistant certification)
- Experience in a customer-facing and/or healthcare environment
- GCSEs in English, Maths & Science (grade C or above)
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between practices
- Eligibility to work in the UK and availability for the required working week
