Job Description

Flame Health is working with a well-established independent optical retailer with a strong local reputation to recruit a Creative Media & Optical Assistant for their practice. This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative individual to join a friendly, close-knit team in a varied role combining customer-facing optical work with digital content creation.

The Role

Optical / Retail Responsibilities

  • Welcoming customers and delivering excellent front-of-house service
  • Assisting patients with frame selection and general enquiries
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
  • Learning optical products, dispensing processes and customer care procedures (full training provided)

Media & Content Responsibilities

  • Creating engaging photo and video content for social media platforms
  • Filming and editing short-form videos such as reels and stories
  • Capturing new frame arrivals, in-store moments and team highlights
  • Supporting promotions, campaigns and local marketing initiatives
  • Helping maintain a consistent brand presence across digital platforms

The Ideal Candidate

Our client is seeking a candidate who is:

  • Friendly, confident and comfortable interacting with customers
  • Creative, with an interest or experience in social media and digital content
  • Confident using a smartphone or camera to capture visual content
  • Familiar with basic editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe, Final Cut or similar (beneficial but not essential)
  • Reliable, organised and comfortable working within a small team environment

Previous optical or retail experience would be advantageous, but is not essential as full training will be provided.
