Domiciliary Optometrist

Job Description

As a domiciliary optometrist, you will deliver high-quality eye care services to patients in their homes and community locations, covering both private and NHS services. Use the latest portable equipment to conduct eye examinations and manage ocular health conditions.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage a daily schedule of domiciliary eye care patients
• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations per GOC and College of Optometrists guidelines
• Assess visual acuity and refraction
• Identify and manage glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and other eye diseases
• Use portable diagnostic equipment (ophthalmoscopy, tonometry)
• Prescribe spectacles and optical solutions
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to clinical governance

Your Skills & Experience

• GOC-registered Optometrist
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills
• Comfortable working in a mobile, independent environment
• Confident driver with at least two years of driving experience
• Proficient with digital systems and patient record management
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
