Main Purpose of the Role

To provide high-quality clinical assistance to practice clinicians while maintaining excellent standards of care, infection control, and patient support within a busy dental practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the clinical environment and dental equipment
  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures
  • Provide chairside support during dental treatments
  • Assist with dental charting and oral tissue assessments
  • Prepare, mix, and handle dental biomaterials
  • Prepare for and assist with dental radiography, including processing radiographs
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Monitor, support, and reassure patients throughout their visit
  • Provide appropriate oral health advice to patients
  • Support the dental team during medical emergencies
  • Make referrals to other healthcare professionals where appropriate

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Dental Nurse: GDC registered with current UK experience
  • Trainee Dental Nurse: No previous experience required; a genuine interest in dentistry and patient care is essential
