Senior Compliance Officer – Advisory
Location: London, Greater London, England (Hybrid) | Job Type: Permanent, Full-time | Salary: £140k - 150k per year + excellent benefits
Overview
A well-established financial services firm is looking to hire a Senior Compliance Officer into its second line advisory function. This is a senior, business-facing role with significant exposure to key decision-makers, focused on providing independent advice and challenge across products, clients, and strategic initiatives. You’ll play a key role in shaping how compliance supports the business, ensuring regulatory expectations are met while enabling sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a senior advisor to the business on compliance and conduct risk matters
- Provide independent review and effective challenge on new products, strategic initiatives, and business change
- Partner closely with senior stakeholders to embed regulatory considerations into commercial decision-making
- Assess complex regulatory scenarios and provide clear, pragmatic guidance
- Support oversight of compliance risks, including escalations, breaches, and thematic issues
- Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the compliance framework
- Support regulatory engagement and internal governance processes where required
- Play a visible role in strengthening compliance culture and awareness across the business
Requirements
- Significant experience within a compliance advisory role in financial services
- Strong working knowledge of UK regulatory requirements and FCA expectations
- Proven ability to operate as a senior compliance partner to the business
- Experience dealing with complex products, business models, or regulatory challenges
- Commercial mindset with the ability to balance risk and business objectives
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leadership
