We are currently seeking a Personal Tax Trainee to join our tax team to study and progress through the ATT qualification.

Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual starting their career in tax to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience in a supportive and professional environment. Working alongside experienced tax professionals, you will assist in delivering private client tax compliance and advisory services to a varied portfolio of clients across different industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation of tax computations and returns for a variety of clients.
  • Supporting the team in gathering and analysing financial data for tax purposes.
  • Communicating with clients to request information and provide updates on work progress.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and deadlines.
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and helping apply them to client scenarios.
  • Participating in internal training sessions to build technical knowledge and develop expertise.

For this role you will need

  • A genuine interest in tax and a strong willingness to learn.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and colleagues.
  • A proactive and organised approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a desire to understand the "why" behind the numbers.
  • IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good educational attainment, GCSE grade 5 and upwards in English and Maths, and good A-Level / BTec / T-Level results in a related subjects (business, economics, maths, accounting).
